Welcome to J&A Pet Photography

Capturing pets and their people

Hi! I'm Bree!

Also known as "That Dog Mum". I adore animals, every and all kinds, snakes included! (Okay I'm not huge on spiders, I'll admit it.)

I have two Australian Shepherds named Jaybird and Artemis, and two cats who believe they are dogs, Alfred Pennyworth and our newest addition, Roy.

The biggest perks of my job is being a professional animal cuddler, seriously, I get SO excited meeting your furry family member, it's (almost) my favourite part of the gig.

My favourite part? Seeing my clients faces when they see their final images of their pet.

Jake & Bek - Wolfie

We booked an end-of-life photoshoot with our beautiful girl Wolfie, and Bree did everything possible to fit us in on such short notice. Highly professional and very accommodating. Wolfie had a fantastic day and the photos came out amazing. A day we will cherish. Thank you Bree.

How it Works

Planning and booking your session

The first step in the process is getting to know you and your pets. This can be done over a phone consultation, emailed questionnaire or you're welcome to pop by my home studio in Collingwood Park and view our artwork to help give an idea on how you want to display your finished artwork.

We discuss the things you and your pet love to do, their personality and help plan the perfect session for you.

Your photoshoot

This is where the magic happens! We spend the afternoon, or morning, either on location or at my home studio capturing you and your pets together.

Your pet gets to do all their favourite things, whether they live for the ball chase, or prefer to get snuggles on your lap, or both! I'm there to capture those beautiful and fun moments.

Viewing and Ordering session

1-2 weeks after your session you'll be invited to my home studio in Collingwood Park to see your images for the very first time! You'll sit back and enjoy some nibbles and drinks while you watch the slideshow of your beautiful photos.

After the "awww" moment and the tears are wiped away, I help guide you through the artwork options available and we design your dream wall art or table art together.

You also get to meet my own menagerie of animals, which you can learn about in my "About Me" section.

The final masterpiece

The session is over, the products have been ordered and now you're waiting for the final reveal, your beautiful artwork all wrapped up in a bow, ready to grace your walls or table.

Usually it takes 2-6 weeks after the ordering appointment for your artwork to arrive from my professional printing labs. I inspect it to ensure it is perfect and then we organise your artwork to be dropped off to you, I can even help you hang it!

FAQ

What if my pet can't be off leash?

I'll let you in on a little secret, almost all of my sessions the dogs are on leash, even in the action shots I use a long line just in case. With the magic of Photoshop, the leads are edited out afterwards!

This way, your pet remains safe and we don't have to worry about limiting ourselves to off-leash only locations.

Does my pet need to be well trained?

Although it helps to have a well trained pet, it is definitely not a requirement.

I have plenty of tricks (and treats!) up my sleeve to ensure we get the best photos of your pet. I am incredibly patient and flexible, we want your pet to have as much fun at the session as possible, after all, they are the star!

My dog is reactive, can we still get photos?

The key to a reactive dog having a happy time, is ensuring we go to a quiet location. Luckily, I have plenty of spots that are very quiet, or large enough we can move out of sight. I have worked with reactive dogs and as long as you are confident in your dog and know their threshold, we can ensure they have an enjoyable outing as well.

Weekday afternoons are highly recommended for shoots as they are quieter than weekends.

Do you photograph pets other than dogs?

Absolutely! I love all animals and have photographed Dogs, Cats, Horses, Snakes and even a pet Sheep!

For smaller animals/ ones that are inside only, I recommend bringing them in to my home studio, we even have the space to get photos of you and your pet together!

Is there a minimum spend?

There is no minimum spend after the session fee. During your consultation we will discuss pricing and packages available, as well as our payment plans with Humm.

At your Viewing and Ordering Session you can view the wall art and table art options we have available, I am here to help you choose how you wish to display your art.

Usually our clients invest from $1,500 - $4,500.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes we do! We use Humm for our convenient short and long term plans.

What if its raining on the day of our session?

For outdoor sessions, we will reschedule if its raining or there's heavy cloud cover.

I want to ensure you have the best pictures possible, and sometimes this means reshecduling for better weather and sunnier days.

Trust me, it'll all be worth it in the end for a beautiful afternoon or morning!

What happens at the viewing and ordering session?

When the time comes for your Viewing and Ordering session, you will be invited to my home in Collingwood Park. We'll sit down with some nibbles and drinks and you will see your final images for the first time in a slideshow with music.

After some "aww" moments and tears are wiped away, I will help guide you through the process of choosing how you want to display your beautiful images. We have a range of wall art options, albums, and some novelty perfect for the desk at work or bedside table.

For more information on our available artwork, check out our "Artwork Options" under Pricing.
